What is UVC Light ?

UV-C light is germicidal, in other words, it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, virus and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, UV-C light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. Its wavelength is between 270-280nm and its effectiveness is utilised in the form of sterilising and disinfection.

Is it safe to use ?

Yes, but with care. UVC light is harmful to the naked eye of both humans and animals and it must not be exposed to plant life either.

UVC LED Flexi strip

It is primarily used by commercial and OEM outfits who will manufacture or install it in devices for applications which demand a UVC light source. It’s able to be used in operating temperatures from -20°C up to +40°C. Strict control is naturally taken to ensure it’s supplied to clientele who understand and accept how it is to be used.
